Payroll & Benefits Coordinator - This position will be responsible for attendance and timekeeping records, calculating an in-house payroll, maintaining payroll control records, compiling payroll statistics, preparing payroll related taxes, and assist in the administration of various employee benefit plans, incl. 401k, insurances, DBL, worker’s comp, FMLA. Must have good communication skills, exp. with various payroll software, Excel and Word; and at least 3 yrs relevant exp. in payroll and HR. Exp. w/TOPPS, Kronos, Paychex, Abra or HR Online a plus.
NEW! Toolmaker - Opportunity for an experience toolmaker on 2nd shift. The successful candidate will be required to build tooling and fixtures for ongoing projects with the organization. We are looking for an individual with experience in Horizontal milling machines and practices, and knowledge in the use of drill presses, lathe work and band saws. Must demonstrate proper surface grinding techniques. High school diploma or GED, strong math skills, and demonstrated mechanical aptitude required.

Senior CAD Designer - for our Switches, Sensors & Controls unit. Responsibilities include the design and preparation of complex drawings from sketches, specs, measurements, and observation. Assist the Sales and Engineering team to develop designs that meet (& often exceed) the customer’s needs and satisfy regulatory requirements while containing costs. Experience with 2D drawings and 3D CAD models required: Engineering Change Notices, modifying 3D models, and 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials. Associates degree and 3+ yrs experience, or equivalent required.
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - for Switches, Sensors and Controls Unit to develop new products and provide technical support for product modification, primarily in the Power Tool and White Good markets. Proven understanding of design parameters for metal stamping, injection-molding and assembly techniques required. Ability to use 3D Solids Modeling Software (Unigraphics preferred) design required. Design For Manufacture, Finite Element Analysis, Six Sigma Tolerancing and knowledge of UL and CSA Standards desirable. Must have a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and quality tools, including DFMEA process. Knowledge of electrical products and components, and basic knowledge of electricity required. Plan and manage projects, make customer presentations, and provide technical direction for internal cross-functional team. B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years experience or equivalent combination required.
Test Lab Technician 3 - As a Test Lab Technician 3, you will carry a lead role in the Test Lab for the Switches, Sensors and Controls (SSC) business unit. Responsibilities will include leading ongoing product testing for product development, manufacturing validation tests, and also audits for safety agencies such as UL, VDA, IEC, and ENEC. Specific involvements will be with testing AC/DC switches and electronic control modules for power tools, appliances, and other related devices. A strong understanding of AC/DC power control and workings will be necessary. Secondary duties will include automated test equipment development, and technical support related to switches and switching technology for the SSC unit. Must possess strong PC skills, including the use of Microsoft Office programs. BSEET with 2+ yrs experience, or ASEET with 10+ yrs experience.
Machine Maintenance Mechanic – 3rd shift - Troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment. Requires the ability to use a multi-meter, familiarity with PLC controlled pneumatics, servo motors and controls. Experience with SMT and related processes, and the ability to read basic electrical schematics, a plus. Train on days, then transition to 3rd shift.
Quality Engineer – with SMT Component and/or Injection Molding experience to develop and maintain quality standards and requirements associated with the introduction of new and enhanced products. Perform inspections of incoming material and completed product; design and develop supplier quality improvement programs; document & report results to team personnel. Advanced computer skills, including SPC. Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes, including flow, layout, assembly & production, lean manufacturing techiques, manufacturing quality tools and electronic test equipment. APQP, PPAP, SMT, ISO/QS, six sigma green belt methodology knowledge, metrology skills. Good verbal communication skills, group presentations, ability to work within a cross-functional / team environment. BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field and 3+ years experience, or equivalent combination.
Test Development Engineer - Design and development of test measurement equipment and techniques to verify our industry leading, state-of-the-art Automotive Electronics Modules, developing the department’s testing strategy – system to module. Verification test development including software, test hardware interface and measurements techniques, development of diagnostic and performance tests utilizing In-circuit test equipment for automotive electronics, products, (RKE, PEM, TPMS, Switches). Initial training of production team with transfer of new products to volume production, (product and processes.) BSEE/BSCE or equivalent, MSEE/CE (a plus), 5+ years experience in computer/electronic design or diagnostic and test development, (related to automated test equipment, design or test in automotive electronics industry preferred.) Experience with RF, and Microwave Designs and Test Techniques, programming with Lab View, Visual Basic or C-sharp and IEEE communication experience desired. Experience with measurement techniques and process controls for harmonics, phase noise amplitude, S-parameters, Guard-band and yield analysis statistics CP/CPK, and normal distributions preferred. Team leadership and technical capability to deliver test process on time, supporting product specification as well as production goals. Position will require limited international travel (approx. 3-4 times a year).
Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - This senior level position resides within our Advanced Manufacturing department, and will be responsible for managing and coordinating projects for the realization of new semi-automated assembly lines. Develop budgets, staffing projections; perform complex design and documentation activities related to definition to facilities, equipment, and tooling requirements, along with the development of the test equipment for such projects. For existing projects, conduct ongoing analyses of existing products and processes to identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve quality, and improve efficiency. Both require presentations to customers and senior management. Candidates must have proven ability to form and lead cross functional teams and possess exemplary organization skills. A minimum of 10 yrs Automotive experience, a technical background in SMT, Injection Molding, Lasers and Robotics manufacturing processes, with Familiarity of molding, metal forming, electronics, and assembly are required. BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, an advanced degree is preferred, Electronics and Electro-mechanical background desirable. Advanced knowledge of quality disciplines, (e.g. ISO), QS / TS / TS Quality systems, statistical process control techniques, process and procedure development and documentation a plus.
Shift Supervisor - 3rd shift - This position is responsible for leading a team of production employees to achieve short term manufacturing objectives of output and quality. Review productivity with cell leaders, plan corrections with logistics and set priorities for cells, assure general material flow. Adjust staffing levels and assigned tasks at the beginning of each shift in response to absences, equipment problems, or other unanticipated situations. Direct production setups, shutdowns, and changeovers. Communicate and implement new and revised policies and procedures, ensure enforcement. Provide training to Cell Leaders in new and revised procedures and methods; assist in training other employees as needed. Perform various administrative functions, including maintenance of time cards and preparation and distribution of production reports. Prepare and conduct performance evaluations for hourly employees, assist in production as needed. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery, shop/mechanical mathematics, ability to work with electrical connections, read blueprints, diagrams, maintenance instructions, and detailed procedure manuals essential. High school diploma with 5+ years related experience, 2 or 4 year college degree with 3+ years related experience, or equivalent.
Senior Process Engineer – Molding - This position is responsible for performing activities related to the design, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the manufacturing molding processes required to support new and existing products. Working with tooling suppliers, parent company in Germany and our Auburn Hills, Michigan Automotive Division’s purchasing to manage delivery of new tools, coordinate with the Cazenovia production facility to ensure arrival, oversee the development engineers and layout resources to ensure tools meet specs/functional requirements and ensure a successful handoff to the molding production staff. Develop cost estimates for implementation of new and revised methods and processes, coordinate the manufacturing launch of new and enhanced products, and serve as primary technical resource for assigned manufacturing processes, equipment and tooling.
Requires an advanced knowledge of hot runner systems, experience coordinating tool builds with external suppliers, ability to analyze mold and plastics design and molding processes. Thorough knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing techniques and manufacturing of quality tools. BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering, with 5 – 10 years experience, or equivalent.
Production Assemblers – Manual and Automated – Full Time openings for all shifts. Pleasant, clean working environment. Requires good hand dexterity. Automated assembly requires ability to set-up and operate automated assembly equipment interfacing with machine controls and surface mount technology. Soldering skills, prior assembly experience, familiarity with automotive quality standards & continuous improvement methods a plus. Bus service available.
