SMT Process Technician - 2nd Shift

Summary – The 2nd Shift SMT Technician will be an internal resource supporting our SMT lines. The right person for this position will be passionate about insuring our production and quality goals are met. Essential Functions
- Program, setup, operate, and troubleshoot SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and THT (Through Hole Technology) machines and some manual PCB assembly
- Program, operate and maintain machines, setup line for products, and troubleshoot defects
- Understand and interpret drawings, bill of materials, CAD data and Gerber data
- Support everyday production in the SMT area.
- Monitor and maintain equipment to meet standards
- Develop and follow preventive maintenance procedures for each machine
- Train, evaluate and support others in SMT and THT standards and practices
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (2yr degree preferred) and 1+ yr of relevant experience.
- Experience working with solder paste printing, AOI, component placement, reflow, and wave soldering machines
- Experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through-hole Technology (THT)
- Experience handling stencils, feeders and other relevant SMT and THT tools
- Must be familiar with standard SMT practices and procedures, demonstrate good soldering skills
- Should be familiar with IPC and JEDEC standards (certification preferred.)
- Basic understanding of ESD compliance and 5S
- Team player, self starter and quick learner
- Math skills
- Able to use measuring equipment.
