Test Lab Technician III
- The Test Lab Technician III primary responsibilities will include interpreting and implementing tests & test programs from customer and/or internal quality test specifications. This position primarily consists of validation of electronic & electromechanical switching products for new product validation, manufacturing process verifications, and quality validation. The successful candidate will also be responsible for determining test methods & equipment necessary to perform qualification tests on electronic electromechanical devices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Examine & interpret customer / internal / agency test specifications & determine best methods for test new and existing products.
- Develop test methods that are accurate and meaningful through gauge R&R and experimentation techniques.
- Ensure precise & clear feedback from test results & where necessary help other team members understand the test information that was provided.
- Assume a lead role in carrying out testing and communication of testing results.
- Work directly with development / manufacturing / quality to develop and implement effective testing methods.
- Assist in budget process & equipment quoting.
- Act as backup for Test Lab Manager when needed.
- Act as an internal electronic knowledge resource.
- Improve test procedures & methods for efficiency.
- Analyze & interpret test data.
- This is a “hands on” engineering position where engineering principles and thought process are realized into physical results & procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
- BS degree (EE, EET, CE, CET) or equivalent with 2+ years field experience in electronic product testing & validation including “hands-on” mechanical/electrical experience OR a two year degree in an applicable area with 4 + years experience.
- Ability to utilize engineering principles of products including automotive bus’ (CAN/LIN), RF Interface, LF Interface, Microprocessors, Discrete Electronics AC/DC Electronics.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and employees of the organization.
- Ability to perform basic statistical, electrical, mechanical calculations.
- Ability to read & interpret schematic drawings
- Ability to utilize computer applications such as: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access), Schematic Entry (Cadence OrCad or similar)
